I love how Denver Post gives a NO vote to Amendment 44 yet willingly prints such a favorable ad for "Michelob Porter and the friendly folks at brewing giant Anheuser-Busch.
It's good to see that the article advertises 5.9 percent alcohol (by volume) and that "The brewer recommends serving it with shellfish and chocolate desserts."
Too bad the article didn't also recommend enjoying this beverage in the comfort of your home. Because the first thing I thought about was going out to a nice restaurant and drinking some of their beers with dinner, before driving myself and my girlfriend home. Afterall... I think going out to a restaurant would be the only place that I would enjoy shellfish and chocolate desserts. I know I don't go through that much trouble for dinner with my everyday plans.
All I hear are prohibitionists complaining of the possibility (with the passage of 44) of "pot heads" getting 'lit' and going out driving which could possibly endanger others... But I never hear these same people complaining about all the restaurants and bars that serve people alcohol all throughout the day who then go get in their cars and get back on the road.
I don't drink, I never have. And as a non drinker I get frustrated to see people out and about, sipping martini's or guzzling beers who then say "oh, I'm fine to drive" and then get on the road which puts me and my fellow drivers in danger. It's appauling that our society has willingly chosen to allow a more dangerous product to be legal while condemming and throwing those who chose to use safer substances in jail.
I'm tired of the hiprocracy that our society has created in regard to Alcohol / Marijuana and it's time for a change. Vote YES on 44!
