I have been thinking about how you folks might be able to organize a movement for the next round. I think the multi-faceted approach built around an initiative might get some national coverage if it is based solely on groups the government would have a hard time attacking.
Can you organize the leaders of Law Enforcement, Judges, Religious Leaders, Teachers, and Moms Against Prohibition?
Would it be possible to connect the leaders of these movements into one organization? Perhaps with a functioning acronym based off of something like TRUTH (Taking a Responsibly Unified Turn for Humanity) or ADAPT or REVISE
I think Ben Franklin's political cartoon that depicted the "disunited state" of the colonies that helped show how important it was for the colonies to be united in time of war is particularly apt in our situation.
Drug policy reformers ARE at war against a miserably failed policy. As you all well know, our leaders will go to extreme lengths to perpetuate their lies made into laws. Conservatives have discredited the drug policy movement very effectively and the ONLY way to defend our stance against prohibition is to have upstanding, calm articulate and intelligent members of society with untarnished reputations to speak on our behalf.
These distinguished groups are already out there guys... will you unite them for the next battle?
