Something that I have never seen in public debate over marijuana prohibition is a comparison to the NRA's stance against gun prohibition.
>NRA cites 2nd amendment
>We should cite the 21st amendment
>NRA thinks if we banned guns that would create a black market and only criminals would have guns
>We should cite that with drug prohibition that we ONLY have a black market and it maybe funding terrorism and violent drug cartels
...there are probably other correlations
As democrats come to take over congress, they may raise the issue of gun control yet again. If they do and this becomes a major issue (even if it's not you can use this) you might want to use this argument for your next effort.
As many groups likes the NRA have sounded "guns don't kill people, people kill people" -- This is true and if applied to Cannabis might go like "Cannabis doesn't kill people, unregulated trade kills people"
If you can find a way to ease this idea into your next campaign in debates you might find you may win some minds. In many cases, the same people who don't want guns banned HATE that evil marijuana.
If you can structure an argument that links many gun prohibition drawbacks to pot prohibition drawbacks and shows how alike they are -- you may just win quite a bit of support from the Colorado libertarians AND
maybe conservatives who hate the idea of gun prohibition.
Show the correlations between what NRA members think would happen if guns were banned to what HAS happened with marijuana prohibited -- you'll see that they are much the same (a shame they don't extend their anti gun ban logic toward drug policy):
THEN show the benefits of marijuana taxation / regulation - with MAJOR fines if provided to minors and MAJOR fines if the person is PROVED to be very intoxicated WHILE driving -- I think its imperative to have these in your next initiative if you want to gain ground and national spotlight
All of these arguments I present could be best displayed by a "country boy" former law enforcement officer of LEAP this man perhaps?

I know LEAP wants to legalize and regulation ALL drugs -- and this might not be something you want to shine a spotlight on - but if they agree to help they would add oh so much credibility and stabilization to your effort -- if legal/regulation is indeed the step you decide to take.
